Homemade Croutons Recipe
Torn Bread Croutons
Croutons are so easy to make, and so delicious!
Tearing the bread gives the croutons tons of crispy edges, but feel free to slice your bread instead if you prefer.
Ingredients
- 8 oz crusty bread torn into 1.5 inch chunks, such as baguette
- tsp ⅛Salt
- A few cracks of fresh black pepper
- 3 tbsp oil or bacon or chicken fat
plus
- 1 tsp dried herbs or spices
and/or
- 1 tbsp fresh minced herbs
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375F and toss together all ingredients on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake until crisp, but still a little tender in the centers, about 16-18 minutes, stirring once during cooking.
