Eyeballs are such a fun motif for Halloween food! They’re instantly recognizable, super spooky, and can be made from so many varying ingredients– but making a cheeseball into an eyeball feels like a pretty seamless transition, dontcha think?? I went for a collection of round pupils (olives) along with more snake or cat-like irises (bell pepper slices) for a monster mash up of halloween cheeseball fun. I also think theses peepers would look cute in varying sizes!
Recipe Notes
Make These Eyes Yours
The recipes following the general whipped cheese mixture below are delicious, but feel free to get creative and switch things up a bit! With whipped cream cheese and goat cheese, you really can’t go wrong– they make a lovely base for every flavor from spicy to sweet. If you want to make just one or two flavors of cheeseballs, keep in mind that you will need to increase the ingredients in the recipes, which can be adjusted right on the digital recipe card on the upper right hand corner! Sometimes these calculations are wonky (computers, amirite?) so be mindful. Bottom line: these are Halloween cheeseballs, they’re pretty much going to be delicious no matter what!
I Love Mess!
Working with cheese can be messy! I like to use my hands to form these balls, because I think hands are the best tools for this particular job. I suggest preparing each coating and cheese mixture first before forming the cheese into balls so the messy part can be done all at once.
